Mirza Qamarul Hasan Beg is a civil engineer by profession and a social worker by nature. His social work spirit is inspired by his father late Mirza Faridul Hasan Beg who was a well-known social worker and the founder of Dr. Zakir Hussain Memorial Cooperative Group Housing Society and the Jamia Cooperative Bank Limited in New Delhi.
Mirza Qamarul Hasan Beg is currently the chairman of Jamia Cooperative Bank Limited (JCBL) and general secretary of Delhi Urban Cooperative Banks Federation. Under his dynamic leadership JCBL is touching new milestones. He takes up keen interest in uplifting the poor and downtrodden particularly in education.
Mirza Qamarul Hasan Beg is the president of the Maulana Azad Education Society, Anjanshaheed, Azamgarh UP. Under this society two schools that are running successfully include Maulana Azad Inter College Anjanshaheed, Azamgarh UP and Rafi Ahmad Kidwai Girls Inter College Anjanshaheed, Azamgarh UP. An approximate of 3000 boys and girls are currently studying in these schools.
He is also the president of Public Girls Degree College Sarai Meer, Azamgarh, UP. The college was established with the active corporation and efforts of Mirza Qamarul Hasan Beg. About 1000 girls are studying in this college.
Due to his keen interest in uplifting women and girl education he has also established Mirza Ahsanullah Beg Girls College at Anjanshaheed, Azamgarh UP. The college provides B.Ed and B.T.C. Education to girls. He makes untiring efforts to uplift the college and standard of education.
To help students coming from weaker section of the society he arranged a scholarship for the students of Jamia Millia Islamia where in allocation of about Rs.6 Lakh has been been made from the General Welfare fund of the bank.
For his remarkable work in the cooperative sector, he has been awarded by the Delhi and UP governments. Mr. Beg was awarded the Sitare Jamia by the Chief Minister of UP in 2014, in the year 2015 he was awarded the Jawahar Lal Nehru Award by Delhi Govt. and in 2017, Delhi Government felicitated him with Shri Brijmohan Memorial Award.
Apart from the educational institutions he has worked upon the propagation of the various schemes of Government regarding Women health and agriculture and for the same he started a regional radio station at Azamgarh by the name of Voice Of Azamgarh.
Apart from his social work ventures, he is one of the directors with NS Associates and works tirelessly as a civil engineer. NS Associates Pvt. Ltd. at present, has about 200 employees and 5000 workers which include both skilled and unskilled labour. The company has been carrying out projects across the country.
